SOC 2 Compliance: Clicktale’s ongoing commitment to its customers

As part of our ongoing efforts to continuously improve and upgrade our security operations, Clicktale recently received a SOC 2 Type II attestation report.  

The SOC 2 compliance was granted following a rigorous auditing process, and signals to our customers that the integrity of our products and the security of their data is our highest priority. As part of our commitment to user privacy, Clicktale employs a “privacy by design” approach, as well as multiple layers of vigorous security technologies to safeguard data, making sure that it is protected, respected and secure. 

What is SOC 2?

SOC 2 is an auditing procedure that ensures that SaaS providers are securely managing data to protect the interests of their customers and the privacy of their customers' clients, and covers approximately 50 controls and processes.

Whilst we have had ISO 27001 certification for several years, a SOC 2 assessment is specifically focused on controls and processes for SaaS operations, and is thus an excellent way for our customers, and potential customers to be sure that the data they manage is also safely handled by Clicktale. SOC 2 reports are conducted by independent auditors, who have to meet the standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants [AICPA].

Achieving SOC 2 Type II compliance demonstrates that our operations, security and processes have met the highest standards of trust and transparency. And as a SaaS provider, this has become a key consideration for our enterprise customers.

What does it mean?

I won't go into the details of everything that is included in our SOC 2 report, but it describes the controls we have in place to deliver on several different principles:

  • Security: how we protect against unauthorized access or changes.
  • Availability: ensuring the service will be up and running as needed.
  • Confidentiality: ensuring information is properly protected.
  • Privacy: ensuring that personal data is handled appropriately.
